Quilted upholstery fabric

Quilted upholstery fabrics are covering materials with an extra filling or padding layer. They are used to make furniture such as sofas, chairs and headboards both more comfortable and more visually appealing. These fabrics are ideal for furniture that is used for long periods and where comfort is very important.

Quilted upholstery fabrics are used in many different ways, in both domestic and commercial settings:

• Furniture: Think of sofas, armchairs, headboards and chairs that need a luxurious, comfortable look.
• Accessories: Decorative items such as cushions and wall panels also benefit from the extra softness and aesthetic value of quilted fabrics.

In quilting, the top fabric, the filling and the backing are joined together. This is done with stitching or with heat and pressure. This keeps the layers in place, and the diamond pattern gives the fabric its typical quilted look.

In this collection, you will find Bronco faux leather with a 5 x 5 cm diamond pattern. It is 140 cm wide, made of 100% polyester, weighs 630 g/m², and has a Martindale rating of over 60,000. It is available in various colors and is sold by the meter.

When choosing, please pay attention to the color, diamond size, and quantity. A 5 cm diamond creates a subtle, classic pattern that is well-suited for seats, backrests, and headboards. Please keep in mind that the pattern must be aligned, so calculate a slightly larger amount than you would for a plain fabric.

• Headboard or wall panel: quilted faux leather adds depth and a luxurious look.
• Sofa or armchair: the pattern increases seating comfort and provides a classic look.
• Dining chairs: choose a smooth faux leather if you want a sleek, easy-to-clean seat.
• Soft, textile feel: prefer a woven fabric or velvet, which feels warmer than faux leather.

When sewing faux leather, use a suitable needle; you can find an appropriate choice in our sewing machine needles collection. When upholstering a seat or headboard, secure the fabric tightly, but not too tightly, using staples from our staple gun and staples range.
