Interior and upholstery fabrics by the metre

For a sofa or dining room chair that is used daily, choose a densely woven quality, such as chenille or a coarsely woven fabric. For a bedroom armchair, a headboard or a decorative chair, the choice may be freer and come velour and velvet exactly right. With curtains, pay particular attention to the drape of the fabric and how much light it lets through.

That depends on the furniture, the width of the fabric and whether there is a pattern that needs to match. Measure the seat, back, armrests and sides separately and add a margin for turning and stapling. Feel free to send us your measurements and we will take them into account before you order.

Upholstery fabrics vary significantly in appearance and use. When choosing, consider four factors: abrasion resistance (Martindale value), weight per m², texture, and color. A higher Martindale value indicates a more durable fabric. This collection includes velour and velvet such as Tiffany and Holland velvet, chenille and bouclé, corduroy (Corduroy and Tilia), coarse-woven fabrics like MIXY and GABO, linen-look fabrics such as Sabona and Figaro, and faux leather (vinyl). • Sofa or sectional, daily use: choose a tightly woven and durable fabric, such as chenille, a coarse-weave quality, or faux leather. Look for a high Martindale rating.
• Dining chairs: faux leather is easy to wipe clean, while a woven fabric or corduroy feels warmer. Choose a durable quality for heavy use.
• Decorative cushions: here you can play with color and texture: velour, bouclé, corduroy, or a mottled fabric.
• Armchair or headboard: velour and velvet provide a luxurious look and really shine on these pieces of furniture.
• Children and pets: choose a dense, sturdy fabric like MIXY, which is offered as pet-friendly, or scratch-resistant faux leather.
• Hospitality and projects: look for the highest Martindale ratings, such as with GABO (over 100,000, water-repellent, and made from recycled yarn).

For velours and velvet, lay all pieces in the same direction so that color and sheen remain consistent. Order all meters at once, as a reorder may result in a slight color difference. Vacuum woven fabrics and velours regularly, wipe faux leather with a damp cloth, and dab stains immediately without rubbing. Always test a cleaner on an inconspicuous area first.
