measuring and marking tools buy?

Which tools do you use for what?

Tailor's chalk and chalk pencil use to mark cutting lines on fabric; the line can be brushed out later. One centimeter tape is flexible and follows round shapes such as armrests and curved backrests. With a drawing hook mark out perpendicular lines and check whether part is straight. One hem gauge keeps a hem the same width over the entire length.

Tips for accurate marking

✅ Mark on the back of the fabric so that no chalk residue remains visible on the visible work.

✅ Measure twice and cut once; a deviation of one centimeter per part quickly adds up over an entire bank.

✅ Check the thread direction before you start. A crooked fabric cannot be corrected after cutting.

✅ Choose chalk with contrast: white on dark fabric, a dark color on light fabric.
